After gaining a decade of experience in leatherwork and specialty costuming for Vancouver's film industry, Tannis Hegan launched herself-titled line of acessories in Spring 2007.
Tannis Hegan is known for both her meticulous attention to detail and her commitment to creating highest quality product possible. Most of the collection is completely handcrafted, including many of the smaller details. The leatherowrk is hand cut and stitched in-studio. The wood and metal elements are produced locally by skilled Vancouver carpenters and metalworkers.
The wooden handles are custom designed to fit the curve of the body and feel comfortable in the hand. The wood is hand selected, cut, and then sanded and completed at the Vancouver studio using cabinet grade finishes.
Local machinist are commissioned to produce most of the steel and brass elements seen in the belts and earmuffs. The hardware is then oxidized and aged by hand.
Where noted, the leather may be hand dyed and textiles pre-washed for optimal appearance and texture. The labels are hand-sewn with Irish linen thread.
The custom elements of her work are limited edition and exclusive to her line.
The Tannis Hegan collection is designed and made in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
