This monday, February 11th, is British Columbia’s first ever Family day statutory holiday. This new holiday was created so that everyone can just take a day off and spend some time with whoever they call family!
Our store hours for the day will be 12-5 so come on by and say hi to the Lark family! We hope to see you soon
We had the privilege of meeting Nikkie this past winter. Nikkie is so much fun, every time she comes by the shop she just lights it right up and we all end up laughing and sharing stories. I was lucky enough that she agreed to let me take pictures of her for fun, and here is what we did together on a lazy Sunday morning.
“One must always have one’s boots on and be ready to go.”
Michel de Montaigne
I feel the same way as Mr. de Montaigne, and since we live in beautiful and rainy Vancouver BC it would probably make sense that those boots that we have on are made of the finest rubber, and that’s exactly what we have for you at Lark right now with Aigle!
The Miss. Juliette Boot ($155) is a sleek rubber boot made with 100% rubber which will never dry out and crack on you.
The Miss. Juliette Tall Boot ($165) is made of the same grade of rubber as its shorter sister but offers your leg a bit more protection for the buckets of water that gets poured on us on the West Coast!
Both of these styles are made for women and I’m sure the boys out there are wondering how they can keep their feet dry…
Last fall Aigle partnered up with, none other, than the famed Harris Tweed Mills in Scotland and produced a very limited number of Harris Tweed Rubber Boots ($395). Available in Berry (shown) or Marine. These boots are made from 100% rubber and will keep your feet dry walking through the city or on damp trails or in the garden. Wherever really! Need more…
…Ok. Everyone likes a good deal.
So you know that Aigle makes some of the world’s most versatile and sturdy rubber boots and you know that Aigle teamed up with Harris Tweed to produce some iconic rubber and tweed boots but they also made a limited number of wool parkas($785) and waistcoats($568).
Both are available in store and online and if you should decide to pick up your timeless and warm outerwear Lark will give you a pair of the Harris Tweed Aigle Rubber Boots for Free! It’s a deal that will keep you warm and dry for years and years to come. So hurry on into Lark because this deal will only last as long as stock is available!
It’s close to the turnaround of the seasons for us here at Lark, and prices on sale items have been going down and down. There are some really incredible deals to be found. Since stuff is going quickly, I thought I’d spotlight for you some special items of which there is… only ONE left!

Last fall Prevail asked me to take a small part in a new project he was working on. How could I say anything except yes? He has just launched a website best described as A Guide to the Good Life.
If you’re Canadian and don’t already know who Prevail is hand in your passport, you’re going to have to earn it back. Prevail is an emcee in the Swollen Members. Founded in 1994 it’s fair to say that they had a massive impact on Canadian hip hop and music in general.
Prevail either never sleeps or has found a few extra hours in the day because his lifestyle site Prevail Prevail is a solid guide to good things you want to take part in. He is one of the best interviewers I’ve had the chance to talk to. He makes you feel super comfortable and his questions are full of depth and breadth.
Thank you Prevail and your team, it was such a pleasure to meet you, and a real honour to be interviewed by you!
It’s been an amazing year at Lark, and we have you, our customers, and friends to thank for it.
Last year was a roller coaster ride for us at Lark. We saw some staff off onto new adventures and welcomed new staff into the ever growing Lark family.
Thank you Clayton and Genevieve for joining us on this wild and crazy ride called Lark. We also want to thank Mike McGinn for taking on some of the heavy lifting at the shop. You wont see him on the sales floor, he works in the back office keeping things running smoothly.
Hunter has been making new friends every day. You’ll notice she greets everyone and then finds a nice place to rest, she knows how to do her job. This year she turned 4!
Nigel of The Cascade Group and Dean from We Are Local teamed up with Dane and Victoria to raise heaps of money for InspireHealth. You might recall that in 2011 we got together with Sook-Yin Lee for InspireHealth.
We have so many people to thank!
We are so thankful to Amanda from Blue Owl Home Boutique, who created a whole new interior look for Lark this past fall.
Brad MacNiel hosted a live talk show in the shop, we’re hoping to have him back in 2013.
We would also like to thank Naomi McDougall for helping us convey the Lark story, and also Melita Peric for some fantastic graphics.
This year we have some really exciting creative projects in the works. We’ve also got some new brands coming in that will be a slight departure from what you’d expect of Lark.
Thank you so much everyone who has shopped Lark over the years. Going forward we are excited to shake things up and get you excited about your wardrobe. Clothing might be a necessity, but we are here to help you make it fun and also meaningful.
