We met Theron at the shop when he came in to see what we were all about. As we got talking I learned that he is the most amazing visual merchandiser, and is responsible for some of my favourite shops in New York.

Theron received his degree in Acting from Arizona State, but he spent a lot of time in the costume department. He even designed and created the costumes for an entire play for one of his classmates. So what does any American living in Arizona that loves theatre, fashion and art do? Well they move to New York of course.
Theron’s first job was at Barney’s and from there he began his career in fashion, and as a visual merchandiser. If you’re on your way to New York check out the JCrew liquor shop, the Madewell stores, RRL shops and you’ll understand why I was actually a little starstruck. It turns out I’d been following his work for years.
When Theron showed up last Thursday to style our mannequins for us his Southern Field Industries Tote was packed with tape, tacks, the yellow pages and monofilament. Serious business people, he wasn’t just styling our mannequins, he was doing up our windows and telling a story.
As you can see we have a Hawaii circa 1940′s WWII theme in our windows. We’ve done nautical, but never in a tropical, so this is refreshing and fun.
