New to Lark: Yuketen Footwear

NEW TO LARK: YUKETEN FOOTWEAR!

We started our first shipment of Yuketen with the classic Sports Chukka for both men and women.

Who is Yuketen and what is so special about their footwear?

Yuketen is headed by designer Yuki Matsuda. He thoroughly researched the process of making quality footwear, specifically through the lens of American craftsmanship. His footwear is realized through the understanding and experience of footwear, luggage, leather, and blanket artisan, who bestowed Yuki with a wealth of knowledge that is integrated and materialized in the construction of each shoe today.

Yuketen uses only the best quality materials, selecting the most appropriate material for specific characteristics — such as the American naked leather that is heavy, thick, yet soft. Skilled artisans with an incredible amount of experience and knowledge are commissioned to produced the footwear.

Since 1985, Yuki produces us with classic American footwear.  Yuketens are truly hand made shoes that do not compromise any minor detail and made with the utmost care and precision. With Yuki’s high-esteem of American craft, shoe production is based sole in the U.S.A. with materials coming from American sources.

The Sports Chukka features a crepe sole, suede upper, and leather laces. The female version comes with an optional kiltie (why would you want to remove it?).

The crepe sole is great as transitional footwear from winter to spring because it is comfortable (super soft on the balls of your feet like walking on air), good for traction for the slippery rainy weather, and for insulation. Who knew that the crepe sole, first worn by soldiers in the Western Desert Campain of World War II, would make a resurgence in modern footwear.

Come and try the Sports Chukka today, and experience the comfort of Yuketen.
